Sunset's That Way is a dance project created by Alix Schillaci in creative collaboration with Sarah Ellen Miller, Bran Moorhead, Garret Welker, Ashaand Simone, Emily Loar, Maria Blanco, and Maddy McCarthy. We're using make believe and daydreaming as a tool for building exaggerated personas that offer control and opportunities for reclamation of personal and shared experiences. Explored through Hollywood Western film aesthetics with a surreal twist, this work takes you on the journey of six loner heroes, as they dance their way toward what they long for most- with some stops along the way to flirt with danger, glamour, and...well you'll see. Bring your disco cowboy boots, and a tissue!
