Meet us on the road to Emotional Literacy!

Let's talk Emotional Intelligence (EI)

Each day, Black men and boys in America face specific challenges and are not always afforded the opportunities to express themselves fully through emotion. This has caused many to have little experience doing so.

When you think of the intersection of Emotional Intelligence and the Black man, what really comes to mind? Self-awareness and social awareness? Vulnerability and self-management? Join the Psi Nu Chapter as we tackle these topics and go deep into the many ways emotion emotional literacy can be used to better the lives of the men around us.

During the discussion, our VIP guests will discuss their work and share ways that we can all, both individually and collectively, improve the experiences of Black men through emotional intelligence.

VIP Guests:

  1. Dr. Reston Bell: Dr. Bell is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (VA), a Licensed Psychology Associate (DC) and an adjunct professor. Her dissertation research evaluated how the recidivism of African American juvenile males varies as a function of the placement, programming, and the services received within the juvenile justice system.
  2. Dr. Anthony M. Perdue: Dr. Perdue is a leadership development coach and trainer. He has over 25 years of experience working with executives from companies such as Lyft, Verizon, IBM, and General Motors.
