This full day workshop is designed to familiarise educational leaders and Kaiako with the draft framework for the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum/Te Mātaiaho and the draft refreshed curriculum for two learning areas.

Participants will be introduced to the whakapapa of the framework, the Vision and Calls to Action that underpin the refresh and examine how the refreshed curriculum aligns to legislative reforms and national education strategies to promote equity and excellence for our ākonga.

Curriculum Leads will then facilitate an opportunity for participants to engage with the refreshed Mathematics & Statistics and English draft curriculum documents. Exploring the ‘understand, know do’ framework and the organisation of the learning that can’t be left to chance across the progressive phases of learning, participants will be asked to generate their feedback regarding the intent of the refreshed curriculum documents to be Te Tiriti honouring, inclusive, clear, and easy to use.
