Description

Setting up a satisfying end to your story can be a real challenge. Luckily, award-winning writer/producer and friend of Chicago Screenwriters Network, Charles Borg, joins us to break down what he calls "The Beginning of the End." In this online talk, we'll take a deep dive into how the shift from ACT II shift into ACT III serves as a crucial step in the storytelling process. Establishing a new tension (amidst an existing conflict) sets the stage for the inevitable ending, although how the hero finds resolve remains to be seen. ABOUT CHARLES BORG

Charles Borg is an award-winning writer/producer with an MFA in Screenwriting from Chapman University. He runs Smash To Script Consulting, working with filmmakers affiliated with the likes of Paradigm, Circle of Confusion, and Nasdaq Studios. Charles writes and ghostwrites feature films and pilots, as well as develops treatments and reality show pitch-packages. Charles presently teaches at Chicago Filmmakers, as well as, the Chicago Flashpoint College - a campus of Columbia College Hollywood. Additionally, he sits on the board as Head of Development for Creative Cypher, a local Chicago-based organization that helps fund and develop film, TV, and web series projects.

HOW DO I JOIN THE EVENT?

Guests will receive an invitation email with a URL link to the virtual event space. The link will go live roughly 5-10 minutes before the start of the talk. You can use Zoom on your phone or tablet (download via Apple or Android store), or your computer via Zoom.us. You do not have to activate your webcam or microphone to RSVP.
