Zawadi African Gallery and Boutique will host global fashion brand, The Clothe, showcasing Caribbean and sustainable fashion. This fashion event is for two days, July 16th and 17th, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Meet the Founder and Creative Director of The Cloth, Robert Young, and purchase items exclusively at Zawadi.

There also will be a live fashion display on July 16th at 2:00 p.m.

About The Cloth:

Founder and Creative Director of The Cloth, Robert Young has created a fashion label designed and based in Trinidad and Tobago over the last 36 years.

About Zawadi African Gallery and Boutique:

Zawadi opened on U St. in Washington, D. C. in 1992 and has grown and evolved along with the street which is now a major attraction for diverse and well-traveled visitors. The owner, Irene T. Whalen, lived and worked in East, West, and Southern Africa, bringing to Zawadi the knowledge of the continent, and a strong commitment to small-scale entrepreneurs and the environment.

Zawadi features both contemporary and traditional African art with a focus on home accessories. Textiles, home accessories, and art pieces change frequently and are often one of a kind. There is always something special to be found in Zawadi.
