the Sit. Fremantle Beach Launch

Description

A weekly event to increase mental fitness through connection, meditation & experiencing nature together with your local community. Today, the Sit. announced the launch of a new weekly event for strengthening mental fitness called ‘the Sit.’

Right in the heart of Fremantle at Bather’s Beach starting on Saturday, June 4 at 6.45AM the Sit. provides this free event to the local community, kindly supported by Fremantle Council: Coming together to experience nature whilst practicing meditation.

The event is focusing on true human connection by sharing this simple community experience powered by the breath. It enhances mindfulness, self-awareness and resilience building, which are all key elements of robust mental fitness.

Attendees come together to practice sitting in stillness to invite presence into their lives. Overtime, this may lead to an enhanced capacity to handle life’s inevitable ebbs and flows.

the sit. was founded by Jason Partington in 2018 at Avalon Beach in NSW. Since then, this not for profit organisation has grown exponentially and has partnered with renowned organisations like Lifeline to continue the support of mental fitness and resilience for local communities in different locations around Australia.

the Sit. is also nearing its milestone of 20 community-based meditation locations, which provide FREE sunrise meditations every Saturday at 6.30am across numerous locations in Australia and overseas.

“Never before in life, have we needed to spend more time internally, in silence, connecting, being grateful, kind and listening to our own intuition for answers.

As a society we are spending extraordinary amounts of time on our screens, looking at social media and comparing ourselves to others. We are spending less and less time getting to know ourselves, creating healthy relationships, spending time in community and in nature. Let’s take action here now.” says Jason.

This program received awareness and is highly recognised in Federal Parliament by MPs Liesl Tesch and Mr Jason Falinski, for its wonderful service to the community.

The following milestones are accompanied by many recent initiatives and accomplishments of the Sit. including:

● Raising over $78,000 for Lifeline through its meditation event called ‘the 28 for Twenty-Eight’ (2020/2021)

● Raising over $17,000 for ‘Head Above Water’ swim challenge and Gotcha for Life (2021/2022)

● Winning the “Community Event of the Year 2021” – Australia Day Awards at the Northern Beaches, Sydney

● Invitation to partake in Lululemon’s global ‘Here to Be’ campaign (2021/2022)

● 5,000+ people attending the Sit. community on Saturdays at sunrise across Australia and the globe (20 locations)
