Tiny Human Survival Training

Description

How do I keep this tiny human alive?? Let's connect as new (or expecting) parents of a very tiny human into our lives. This No Judgement Zone welcomes all your questions about babies. Get hands-on training for diapering, carrying, and soothing your baby.

But what about me? It's not just about making sure the tiny human survives--it's also about your survival! Let's talk about what YOU need to survive something that is totally worth the stress you will feel.

Who's running this thing? Your facilitator, Elliot, is an alumnus of last year's THST cohort and is super stoked to host you Thursday evenings at the Nurturely Lounge. His biggest qualification to be your host is that his tiny human is has survived almost ten months of life at time of writing.

Who can join us? Nurturely has lovely programs for pregnant people, so this is space for other folks: caregivers, co-parents, dads, non-birthing moms, cis and trans parents.

Can I bring my own tiny human? Reach out to me in case we may be able to make arrangements for care.

Where do I park? Parking is free in the main lot beside the Nurturely Lounge building.

Is this covid-safe? Yes, we have the option of meeting outdoors and respecting everyone's boundaries, no judgement.

Most human cultures around the world have integrated community-supported rituals to nurture infants and caregivers during the perinatal period. Yet Western industrialized culture has largely lost this critical societal infrastructure. After years of working internationally, Nurturely’s founder, Emily Little, PhD, started Nurturely with the goal of creating local impact from global inspiration. Nurturely uses preventative wellness programs, community-participatory research, and interdisciplinary trainings to tackle disparities in perinatal health in the US. Nurturely strives to honor the inspiring international wellness and support practices from a place of humility and respect, amplifying the voices of the original holders of these practices.
