Trauma Informed Community De-Escalation Training

Join us for a Trauma Informed Community De-Escalation Training taught by Licensed Clinical Social Worker Amilia James in partnership with Knoxville HEART.

This is a virtual 2 hour Zoom training with a mix of learning, interaction, and discussion.

You will:

  • Increase your understanding of why people get escalated and learn to use a compassionate, trauma-informed framework in your response to escalation.
  • Learn core de-escalation skills that can be used in everyday situations.
  • Explore how to utilize community resources and police alternatives in Knoxville.

Amilia James is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 6 years of experience as a mental health therapist. Over the past four years, Amilia has offered trauma informed de-escalation trainings in healthcare and other settings. Amilia believes that everyone deserves to be treated in a way that honors their inherent worth and dignity and brings this perspective into her clinical and community work.
