Twenty-two veterans a day take their own lives. Nick Crandell is a US Navy veteran who lost his friend and fellow vet last year, Josh Rew. This loss inspired Nick to create an event to help raise awareness around PTSD and put an end to 22 suicides a day. Ride2Zero is a motorcycle ride from Fruita to Rifle. All motorcycles and cars welcome.
Proceeds Beneficiary: Smiling Goat Ranch, a healing place that doesn’t charge veterans or their families for therapeutic services. SGR brings the healing effects of horses, movement, nature and supportive community to veterans with PTSD, autism families, children and adults with anxiety, depression and related conditions free of charge.
Ride Patch: Nick and his team developed a commemorative patch for this ride. Patch below –teal ribbon with gray background, gold stars and black lettering.
Ride Route:
Starting – Vietnam Memorial, Fruita, CO
From there I70 Eastbound to De Beque. Then exit De Beque and take highway 6 east to the Highway 13 bypass in Rifle. From there, travel North on Highway 13 to the Veterans Memorial Park that is North of Rifle by Deerfield Park.
Final Destination - Veterans Memorial Park, Rifle, CO
