Wetland Ecosystems for Homeschoolers (K-5th)

Description

Students will hike to a boardwalk and explore a wetland in Baird Creek. Students will touch cattails, make observations of wildlife and plants, and discover the important role wetlands play with a fun interactive model. Grade levels K-5 are invited to attend this class. $15 per student.

The Baird Creek Preservation Foundation is pleased to present our environmental education classes for homeschool students. The classes will have a different topic each week, and the curriculum is designed to meet the Wisconsin State Science Standards.

The parent or guardian will need to drop off their child(ren) at the shelter building at Triangle Hill. The minimum number of students registered for a class must be 5 or the class will be canceled, and fees will be refunded or transferred to another class of your choice.

If you plan on your child staying for both programs, there will be a $5 lunch care fee for the hour lunch in between programs. You can bring the $5 with you to class and give it to the educator or pay online when signing up for classes. Lunch will be outside weather permitting. Baird Creek Preservation Foundation does not provide food so please pack a nut-free lunch.

We ask that we are notified at least three days in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. In the case that there are weather conditions that will impede on the safety of students and our staff, we will notify you of cancellations as soon as possible and you will be fully refunded or rescheduled.
