About Duval Soil & Water Conservation District
The Duval Soil and Water Conservation District was created in July of 1953 under the authority created by the Soil Conservation Act, passed by the Florida Legislature in 1937. The DSWCD is a board of 5 elected supervisors, organized by concerned citizens of Duval County to help landowners and users to conserve land, water, forests, wildlife and related natural resources. The Mission of DSWCD is to deliver natural resources conservation technology and education to local landowners and users and to promote the wise use of land and best management practices that will conserve, improve and sustain the natural resources of Duval County.
About World Conservation Day
Observed on July 28 annually, World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated to acknowledge that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and healthy society. We can all be Conservation Champions on this day and everyday by being good stewards, continuous consumers and encouraging others to protect wildlife & natural resources as well.
