What is yin yoga?

As opposed to the more popular styles of yoga in our area, like hatha, vinyasa, or power, which focus on building heat and working your muscles, Kristine offers yin yoga, which targets your deep connective tissues, fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It is a slow-paced flow where you hold each asana(pose) for longer amounts of time (3 minutes or more). Spending most, if not all, of the class down on your mat allows for: 1) Calming and balance of the mind and body 2) Reduction of stress and anxiety 3) Increase in circulation 4) Improved flexibility.

What is breathwork?

Breathwork is a healing modality where there is a conscious manipulation of the breath to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well being. Earlene uses the conscious breathwork technique which includes a spectrum of deep diaphragmatic breathing. It is an inclusive practice available to all regardless of race, religion, size, age or otherwise. As long as there is breath, there is breathwork.
