Your Global Future 2021: Presenter & Sponsor Registration

Description

Why Your Global Future?

Away from the borders and coasts, Kansas City-area students are often surprised to find just how many international academic and professional opportunities await them after high school. This unique college and career fair brings students to the table with dozens of international businesses, organizations, colleges, and universities to show them just how global their future can be.

Attendee Profile

Previous Your Global Future college and career fairs brought together more than 500 Kansas City–area high school students and their teachers from around the Kansas City metro region. They interacted with more than 50 businesses, university programs, and community organizations. While we’re excited to return to the trade-show model in 2022, this year’s fair will bring global possibilities right to students where they are, in-person. Every day the IRC will bring sponsoring speakers from a different international path to present directly to an auditorium full of students at a local high school, while also live streaming and recording the event for other teachers and students to access across the area.

Program recordings will be posted on each organization's mini-page on the IRC website, where students will be able to access more information about the organization prior to and after the event, like company listings, links, and more.

Presenters from participating organizations should plan to be present for the duration of the panel. Beyond sharing about your organization's work, we ask that your section of the panel focus specifically on international college, career, and other current and future opportunities for high-school students. We also ask that presenting individuals be prepared to engage students in conversations that will help them to develop their professional skills and explore possibilities for their future. Additional information and suggestions for presentation content will be shared as the event approaches.

Presenting Specifications

This year, sponsors can expect to join 2-3 other representatives for an in-person panel at a local school with an audience of 100-200 students or more, right in front of them. Panelists will share the school’s auditorium stage for a 50 minute session to discuss and present their own unique global career, volunteer, or study opportunities. Each panelist will get at least 10 minutes to present with 5 additional minutes to take questions directly from the in-person student audience. A presenter’s screen and AV equipment will be available at each school. Each panel will also be livestreamed and recorded for other teachers and schools to incorporate in their classrooms and share with students either live or asynchronously.

Representation Across Sectors

All of our panelists will be able to discuss how their opportunities can benefit the students and lead them down a particularly international path, either elsewhere in the world or from right here in the Kansas City area:

  • Business & STEM: Businesses and organizations from a range of sectors, including engineering, finance, law, medicine, and technology;
  • Nonprofits: Ethnic and cultural groups represented in the Kansas City area, Kansas City-based international NGOs, and museums with global connections;
  • Government & Service: Government agencies and ROTC programs;
  • Study Abroad: representatives from study-abroad programs at local universities; and,
  • Colleges & Universities: Academic and admissions departments from local colleges and universities
